1. For European and Euro-Atlantic integration

President Parvanov’s foreign policy efforts are intended to strengthen Bulgaria’s national security, create favourable external conditions for speedy reform in the country, and effectively protect the rights and interests of Bulgarian citizens and Bulgarians around the world. In his view, this is attainable through a consistent, pragmatic, balanced, multipronged policy.

March 18th, 2004. President Georgi Parvanov signs the decree to promulgate of the North Atlantic Treaty’s ratification by the Bulgarian Parliament.
April 25th, 2005. Luxemburg. President Georgi Parvanov signs Bulgaria’s EU Accession Treaty.

Its strategic milestones are Bulgaria’s full membership in the European Union and NATO. Georgi Parvanov has worked towards the speedy achievement of these strategic goals since his first day in office. On March 18, 2004, he decreed the promulgation of the ratification of the North Atlantic Treaty by the Bulgarian National Assembly, and on April 25, 2005, he signed the Treaty of Bulgaria’s Accession to the European Union.
